CECEP:Beauty of Flowing Lines

Xixi SHOUZUO commercial property by CECEP Industry Development is located to the west of Greentown Xixi Chengyuan complex and at the opposite side of the future Administrative Service Center of the Westlake District. It is 6 kilometers away from the West Lake, and only 500 meters from the Xixi Wetland Park. Developed as CECEP’s landmark “green building”, Xixi SHOUZUO is surrounded by green environment along a river, which further accentuates its “green” concept.

As for the building layout, a courtyard style has been adopted with four L shaped, 8-floor office buildings forming the outer layer and standalone commercial-residential buildings in the center. River Shuanglong divides the complex into two parts: north and south sections. Energy-efficient and climate neutral technologies are widely applied in the general and interior design of the buildings with the aim to create a green business center that well integrates business, commerce and leisure.

This project has been inspired by the extension and retrofit of the RENOMA WROCLAW business center in Poland, which also utilized ALUCOBOND®. The Polish project involved retrofitting of the former Wertheim Department Store, which was built in 1930, and extension on its east side, while remaining faithful to the elegance and high standards of the old building.

While preserving the existing structure, designers have added horizontal louvre panels to the facade which help form curves in the building with a sense of fluidity. Xixi SHOUZUO project has also adopted the design.

Compared with RENOMA WROCLAW, Xixi SHOUZUO project has incorporated more circular arcs in its facade design and emphasized on a dynamic feature with its fan-shaped eaves, standing prominent and impressive. The challenge of the design is to ensure that panels offer highly smooth surfaces and processing precision. In order to achieve flowing and straight facade lines, precision cutting of ALUCOBOND® panels and profiles is a must for seamless connection. Horizontal ALUCOBOND® panels shall be cut in a unified curve while offering highly smooth surfaces. No error can be tolerated. High quality panels and precise processing techniques have perfectly expressed the creation and intention of designers, bringing to reality beautiful flowing lines of the building.
