Located in Qingdao, the Sino-German Ecopark is the first national platform for cross-cutting collaboration established by Premier Li Keqiang and visiting German Chancellor Angela Merkel. The park serves as a base to introduce leading energy efficiency technologies, relevant industries and research results from Germany.

The joint cooperation also aims to establish a national demonstration park for energy-efficient buildings. The Ministry of Housing, Urban and Rural Development hosted the “China Passive Ultra-low Energy Building Conference” in Qingdao at the end of 2015, during which the ecopark project was appointed as the sole project for promotion and showcase.
